IIT Madras initiated the process to adopt ISO-9001 standards in the systems and procedures of support services including the Central Library. Accordingly, I have been involved in the following activities:

Knowledge Portal for ISO 9001:2000 Application in Libraries & Information Center

 

  1. Interacted and responded to ISO :9001:2000 Internal Quality Team on 09-12-2009
  2. Presented, Interacted and responded to ISO Surveillance Audit ( M/S TUV India on 31-08-2009
  3. Special Presentation made on Central Library System : An ISO 9001:2000 Perspective to MR Meeting, Chaired by Director-Incharge on 25-08-2009
  4. Interacted and responded to ISO:9001:2000 Internal Quality Team on 24-08-2009
  5. Interacted and responded to ISO Recertification Team (TUV NORD) on 02-08-2008 in connection with recertifation of the Central Library alongwith other Units of IIT Madras for another three years valid upto August 2011
  6. Interacted and responded to ISO Internal Quality Audit Team on 16-07-2008

  12. Delievered Lecture on System and Procedures Manual for ISO-9001:2000 to the Participants of National Workshop of LIS Teacher and the Digital Future organised by Central Library and IATLIS on 19-01-2007
  13. Interacted and responded with Internal Quality Audit Team on 14-09-2006 during Internal Quality Auditing of the Central Library and also replied to NCRs raised.
  14. Delivered lecture on ISO 9001:2000 Application in Libraries and Information Centersat India International Centre New Delhi Organised by DELNET on 31-01-2005. Prof. Kaul, Director, DELNET, Presiding over the lecture.
  15. Delivered lecture on ISO 9001 application in Libraries to the participants of referesher course counducted by academic staff college, Osmania University Hyderabad on 03-12-2004
  16. Organised a Pre-Conference (SIS 2004) Tutorial on ISO 9001 : 2000 Application in Libraries and Information Centre on 21-01-2004 at IIT Madras.
  17. Preparation of System and Procedures Manual : I have prepared a detailed system and procedures manual as per the requirements of ISO-9001 and also ISO 9001: 2000 for recertification and up gradation.
  18. Quality Auditing and Surveillance: Various internal and external quality auditing and surveillance were completed and non conformity reports were also replied.
  19. Attending Workshops: Regarding setting vision, mission, quality policy of IIT Madras, I have attended the following programmers conducted for ISO
  20. Workshop on strategic issues in IITM-Interface and also associated with human resources group on 10-08-1996
  21. 3-Days Workshop on team building and leadership organized by IIT Madras on 23- 07-1999 to 25-07-1999
  22. Workshop on Strategic plans for IIT Madras held at IIT Madras on 25-07-1998
  23. Workshop on developing a mission statement for IIT Madras on 04-04-1998
  24. Workshop on ISO-9000 organized by IIT Madras on 21-09-1997
  25. Final Certification Team. I have also faced final certification team and replied various non-conformity reports raised by Quality Audit Teams.
  26. ISO-9001 Certificate Awards: Received Memento along with a copy of ISO-9001 certificate from the Chief Guest, Mr. N. Kumar, Managing Director, Chemplast Sanmar in the presence of Prof. R.Natarajan, Director of IIT Madras on 12-05-1999.
  27. Constitution of Quality Circles: For ensuring quality services.
  28. Staff Users Meet: Organised various meets to strength staff users interaction
